This limited edition cel image was inspired by the romantic final scene in the classic Merrie Melodies cartoon, West of the Pesos. Following an arduous day freeing his missing compadres from their jailer Sylvester, the high-octane Speedy Gonzales slows down long enough to receive his reward a kiss from a beautiful Seniorita (which sets him off again! "Epa Epa Andele! ").
This Limited Edition Cel began with a drawing by Warner Bros. artist Scott Seeto, based on an image from, West of the Pesos. From this drawing Laurie Dindis created the master inking which was then silk-screened along with the Warner Bros. seal onto an acetate sheet (or "cel"). The original background by Hector Martinez was reproduced on acid-free paper using the lithography process. The edition number was hand-inked on each cel in a special edition size of only 250 pieces. Upon completion of the edition, the original artwork was archived.
