The Last Lash

The third diabolical release in the villainous "Nasty Guys" series, The Last Lash is the brainchild of notorious Warner Bros. artists Alan Bodner and Steve Lewis and features the sinister anti-hero from such memorable car-toons as A Witch's Tangled Hare. The influences of such Looney Tunes cartoonists as Maurice Noble, Philip DeGuard, and Chuck Jones are apparent throughout the "Nasty Guys" collection, an homage to animation's most loathsome supporting players.
 
This collaborative limited edition cel began with an original Bodner and Lewis concept. A master inking from a clean-up drawing of Steve Lewis' art was printed with the Warner Bros. seal onto an Exlar sheet (or "cel") through a high-quality silk-screening process. These line were augmented with "self-color" lines, hand-inked on the front of the cel to help create character shadows. Each piece was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side. The background by Alan Bodner was reproduced using a fine art lithograph process. Each The Last Lash is individu-ally numbered in an edition size of only 350 pieces. Finally, Alan Bodner and Steve Lewis have approved each cel with their signatures. Upon completion of the edition, the original artwork was archived.
